Humo Air to be engaged in air transportation not only in Uzbekistan, but throughout Central Asia

The new Uzbek airline named Humo Air will be engaged not only in operating domestic flights, but also in flights to other Central Asian countries, reports with reference to Uzbek Minister of Transport Elyor Ganiev.

“A new air company named Humo Air will be created to develop regional air transportation in the country and in the whole Central Asian region. To equip it with the necessary equipment, negotiations are being held with a number of leading companies. So far this information is purely commercial in nature. And I will not comment on the agreements reached so that not to excite the market and not lead to price inflation,” he said during a press conference in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

Mr. Ganiev also added that Uzbekistan Helicopters will develop new types of air transportation services.

“There are plans to purchase a certain number of new Western-style helicopters to develop the tourism sector and to provide business services including excursions to attractions located in the mountains,” he said.

Mr. Ganiev also said at the press conference that in the next two years five to six new airlines will be created in the country.

In addition, according to Deputy Prime Minister Aziz Abdukhakimov, Luxembourg’s Luxaviation plans to create an airline in Uzbekistan. It will be engaged in helicopter transportations.
