SITA explores emerging world of mixed reality for air transport industry

A new world of mixed reality is emerging and SITA Lab, the research arm of air transport IT provider SITA, is exploring its potential for airlines and airports. Today it released early results of research carried out with Helsinki Airport using Microsoft HoloLens to analyze and manage airport operations in a mixed reality environment.

AMAC to equip its first ACJ320neo

As it became known to BizavNews, AMAC Aerospace, the Swiss provider of MRO services and integration of interiors of business jets, won a tender for the customization of its first ACJ320neo, which is intended for Acropolis Aviation, a British company. The Green liner will arrive at the AMAS base in Basel in the Q4, 2018, after 12 months, the customer will receive a fully finished aircraft. The interior for the new ACJ320neo was developed by the design studio ‘Alberto Pinto’.

Airbus Helicopters rolls out 700th H130

Airbus Helicopters celebrated a major milestone last week with the roll-out of the 700th H130 light single-engine helicopter, which will be operated by a private customer. The H130 fleet has so far accumulated more than 1.8M flight hours with 340 operators worldwide. Since entry into service of the first EC130 in 2001, this light single engine helicopter has continued to evolve to better respond to customer’s expectations, with the latest H130 variant being certified in 2012.

Bombardier reports its Q1 2017 results

According to the Bombardier Inc. quarterly report, in Q1 2017, the deliveries of the Bombardier Business Aircraft division fell by two planes, as compared to last year, down to 29 aircraft. At the same time, the manufacturer’s income fell by almost 30% due to the “unfavourable structure of supply”, as in Q1 2017, one has delivered more business jets of the Learjet family and less expensive Global ones.

Airbus Helicopters improves H145 operational capabilities

Airbus has extended the flight envelope of the H145 by enhancing the helicopter’s OEI power. The acronym OEI stands for “One-engine-inoperative”, measuring the performance of an aircraft with only one engine remaining operative. With the increased power, the light-twin helicopter H145 can accommodate two additional technicians or can fly longer distances during a mission which requires human external cargo (HEC) operations.

A350-1000 Early Long Flight proves its exclusive cabin comfort and maturity


The A350-1000 completed successfully its first and unique “Early Long Flight” with 310 passengers on board, including 10 Airbus Flight Test crew members and 13 Virgin Atlantic cabin crew. Test aircraft MSN065 took off from and landed in Toulouseon May 11th after a 12 hours flight.

SITA: airlines have improved quality of baggage handling in 2016
