Kyrgyz Parliament members again raise issue of high cost of air tickets for Bishkek – Osh domestic flights

Today, September 12, Kyrgyz Parliament members once again discussed the issue of high cost of air tickets for domestic flights en route Bishkek – Osh at a meeting of the Committee on Transport, Communications, Architecture and Construction under the Kyrgyz Parliament.

As noted by Ulukbek Ormonov (Bir Bol Faction), the Pegasus Airlines has entered the Kyrgyz civil aviation market by promising air tickets for KGS 999. However, in fact they are much more expensive.

“Especially, they are getting much more expensive during our traditional holidays, where it’s seen to fly to Moscow, Russia, you pay KGS 6,000 one way, and in order to fly to Osh, Kyrgyzstan, you should pay the same amount,” he added.

He was also supported by several Parliament members, including Altynbek Zhunus uulu (Onuguu-Progress Faction), who noted that this issue should be considered at the next meeting and the Parliament should instruct the Antimonopoly Service to conduct an audit of this fact.
