13 Kyrgyz airlines still in EU blacklist

18/05/2017 16:43

The European Commission has published a new list of air carriers, which are prohibited from flying to Europe. This year, it includes 181 airlines from 16 countries, including Kyrgyzstan. This information is published on the website of the European Commission.

The list also includes such countries, as Afghanistan,Angola, the Republic of the Congo and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Djibouti,Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Gabon,Indonesia, Liberia, Libya,Nepal, Sao Tome and Principe, Sierra Leone and Sudan. Air carriers are included in the register due to lack of safety control by the state, the report says.

Exceptions were only made for some air companies that were allowed to fly on certain types of aircraft only. For example, Air Koryo (DPRK), Iran Air and Afrijet (Gabon) were authorized to operate some flights to the EU.

In addition, 13 airlines from Kyrgyzstanhave been banned to operate their flights to the EU. They are as follows:

1. Air Bishkek

2. Air Manas

3. Avia Traffic Company

4. Central Asian Aviation Services (CAAS)

5. Heli Sky

6. AirKyrgyzstan

7. Manas Airways

8. S Group International

9. Sky Bishkek

10. Sky KG Airlines

11. Sky Way Air

12. The Tez Jet

13. Valor Air

According to Violeta Bulz, Commissioner for Security, the list urges countries and airlines to think about standards. It is noted that all air carriers of Benin and Mozambique have been excluded from the updated list. According to Mrs. Bulz this clearly means that it is possible to improve the level of security/safety.
